Who We Are
Hi, my name is Sam Davis, your local Mornington chiropractor. Thank you for visiting this site. Before becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic I studied Myotherapy (Muscle Therapy) in the United States.
Once in practice, it became clear to me that combining Myotherapy with Chiropractic produced better results for my patients than if I focussed on only one approach.
As a result, in my approach to practice, I devote a lot more time to each patient visit, working on both tight muscles as well as spinal fixations or misalignments.

How We Can Help You
So what does this mean for you as a patient looking for a Mornington chiropractor?
Well, if you decide to visit me, I hope you will feel like I take the time to listen to you, assess your concerns, treat you thoroughly and carefully and, where appropriate, give you instructions to continue your care at home.
To summarise the approach I take with patients I try to:
-
Release tight and painful muscles
-
Improve muscular balance and support for your spine
-
Improve spinal flexibility and alignment
-
Improve spinal disc health and hydration
-
Improve posture
In addition to the above, over the past few years, I have developed a spinal treatment system called the 'Spine Swing'.
The Spine Swing is a comfortable, free-flowing treatment device that uses your body weight, gravity and the natural movement of your spine to gently traction, stretch and mobilise your spine and back muscles.

How We Work
At Spine Care Myotherapy we want you to feel better, move better and stand taller. Our approach consists of three phases: relieving pain, improving flexibility, and improving posture.
1. Relieving Pain
Most of our clients experience some form of pain or muscle tightness. Before we can help you improve your flexibility and posture, we first work with you to relieve that pain and tightness.
2. Improving Flexibility
Once we’ve taken care of the initial pain and tightness, we shift our focus to improving your flexibility. That allows us to not only improve the health of your joints but also your posture.
3. Improving Posture
The final phase of our approach is to improve your posture. Many people misunderstand what good posture means and how to achieve it -- but that’s where we come in!

Treatments We Use
We lead you through the three phases above by using a series of treatments. Each of these treatments makes up an important part of the holistic approach we take to improve your body.
1. Initial Consultation
During your first visit at Spine Care Myotherapy, we will listen to your concerns and make a professional assessment of the situation. That way, we know exactly how to help you.
2. Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is slower and deeper than regular massage meant for relaxation. Through this technique, we can relax and lengthen the muscles to relieve both pain and tightness.
3. Myotherapy
Myotherapy simply means muscle therapy and is a series of treatments meant to loosen and lengthen your muscles. We specialise in the musculoskeletal system, which covers all areas.
4. Chiropractic
Chiropractic is a natural healing technique that focuses on the realignment of your spine. That not only helps improve your posture but also helps with general mobility and flexibility.
5. The Spine Swing
We used our collective 50 years of experience in the field to create the Spine Swing. The addition of this tool will not only speed up your recovery but also result in fewer visits.
6. Home Exercises
The treatments that we offer can unfortunately only go so far. For maximum results, you will need to do some exercises at home. We will advise you on what to do and how often to do it.
Our Treatment Principles
Our practise rests on a set of principles that guide our work. We believe in taking a holistic approach because every part of your body works together with the others in harmony.
1. Muscle Balance
The muscles in your body are what allow you to move around and function. If these become tight or contracted, it can have a negative impact on your skeletal structure.
2. Spinal Alignment
The spine is the centre of our bodies. It facilitates communication between the brain and the rest of the nervous system. When it’s not aligned properly, it affects the entirety of our system.
3. Balanced Core Stability
The core muscles in your body are your lower back and abdomen. These muscles help stabilise the spine. If there is an imbalance at the core, it can negatively affect the rest of your body.
